Since I am not too savy on this blog thing yet as far as pictures go, I couldn't even figure out how to enlarge without getting too grainy. Pictures this old doesn't look too good blown up. I hope you have a wonderful birthday (even though you have to work).
I love you a whole bunches. Until next time ..........

Family Reunion

My dear brother really would like the redneck article to be behind us so I decided to write a bit about our family reunion. We really had a good crowd this year. It was really nice to see all of the little ones and their parents and grandparents and great-grandparent. Mom really enjoyed having everyone come and celebrate her birthday. Saturday night we sat down and counted everyone that was there. I believe she came up with 57 people. Not bad for a small family. Like Lana, I have a time getting settled down so I can enjoy spending time with everyone. I don't get to see family on a day to day basis so I get a little nervous and by the time I settle down, it is time for everyone to go their way. Regrets - I am very sad that we didn't take group pictures. Since, I am always with camera in hand, I look back now and see very few pictures of me with my kids,my husband, my parents, my siblings, everyone. Granted, I don't like my picture made but looking back, it is sad that I don't have them. So starting now, things are going to change. I will hand over my camera anytime. I am sure I will regret that statement.

Now, I have a favor to ask. First, I have started with the cookbook so all I can say is send recipes if you have any you want to put in our book - email is fine. Second, I am looking for a picture of Mom. She probably has it but she hasn't gotten around to looking for it. It is a picture of Mom wearing a red dress. She always wore this dress when she got dressed up for a special occasion. I am sure Lanny, Nancy, and Sharon remember this. Please if you come up this picture, I would really like a copy or email to me. Again, I am really enjoying the blogs that are being done. Keep up the good work. It is really a lot of fun.

Until next time .............

Dad & Mom

This is one of my favorite pictures of my parents. The picture was taken in Nancy's backyard many years ago. Wednesday, October 3, would have been their anniversary. I believe it would have been their 60th anniversary. I don't know how much many of the nieces and nephews know about their grandparents. I look at this way - when the older members of a family pass away so does the stories that they have lived thru. If they are not passed on down, then history is gone!!! Let's not let that happen. Spend time with the older relatives and ask questions. You won't be sorry. Until next time..........

The Coming of Fall

I love this time of the year. Weather is finally cooling off and leaves will be changing colors soon. The hummingbirds that have been so active and numerous this year are starting to thin out and head south. We have really enjoyed watching and feeding them this year. Deer hunters will soon be intruding on our space. Not fun but a necessity. Jim and I were sitting under our carport yesterday when we spotted 4 deer feeding. The funny thing about this was they were feeding underneath our neighbor's deer stand. Such as life in the country. I never thought that I would ever live in the country. But I guess I am adjusting. It has not been easy for me. Jim is country thru and thru - not me.

I really like this blog thing that Libby, Lana, Leigh and now my brother are doing. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about family's day to day living since we don't see each other very often. It would be nice to get my sister's involved too. But I don't really see that happening as they are too busy with other things. Maybe they will fool me. I, too, don't know what I am doing with this but I will learn.

Catch you next go round. Love all of you.
